The Czech-Israeli Mutual Chamber of Commerce (ČISOK in Czech – [chisok]) was established in February 1996 and is one of the oldest active chambers of commerce in the Czech Republic. We are a non-profit non-governmental organisation that seeks to facilitate a multifaceted development of mutual trade between Czech and Israeli businesses.
The Chamber closely cooperates with the government as well as with municipalities and communities in the Czech Republic and Israel, with the Israeli Embassy in Prague, the commercial section of the Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv and with the partner Israeli-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry. We also work closely with the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic and the Confederation of Industry and Trade and assist on preparing business delegations accompanying government visits of Czech officials in the State of Israel and we have cooperation with official authorities of the State of Israel on the organisation of trips to the Czech Republic.
The Chamber organises two specialist missions into Israel. One mission focuses on healthcare and the other one on water management. Both missions are dedicated both to the specialist and the broader expert community. The missions are highly valued by experts and enjoy a high attention.
Along the same lines, the Chamber organises networking events for its members to support their business activities in the Czech Republic and share and discuss latest developments in the domain of trade, cultural and social. We invite into our midst leading representatives of the government, municipalities and communities, business and the academia. Equally important part of the Chamber’s life is the organisation of specialist conferences and seminars with Israeli guests. We keep focus on current topics and seek to push them forward.
In 2011, the Czech-Israeli Mutual Chamber of Commerce founded the Arnošt Lustig Prize that has enjoyed an increasing recognition and popularity. The aim is to incite society-wide support to values such as courage and bravery, humanity and justice.
